Via della Loggia – leaving the Port through Varco della
Repubblica, we suggest you to stop and have a look at Teatro delle Muse
(Theater of the Muses) . Go on along via della Loggia to visit:
- Loggia dei Mercanti (Merchants’ Loggia);
- Museo del Bambino e del Giocattolo (Kid and Toy Museum):
visiting hours: Tue-Sat. from 11am to 7 pm; Sun. from 3.30 to 7 pm;
closed on Monday.
ticket: adults € 2 ; free entrance for children.
- Santa Maria della Piazza (St. Mary of the Square’s Church)
If you go on along Lungomare Vanvitelli and then turn into via Giovanni
XXIII, at its end, on top of the hill you will find:
Cattedrale di San Ciriaco (St. Cyriac’s Cathedral)–
visiting hours: from 8 to 12 am / from 3 to 6 pm (in the summer until
7 pm)
Masses timetable: working days at 9 am
Sundays and holidays at 9 – 10.30 – 12 am and 5 pm (in the
summer at 6 pm)
By the side of the cathedral you will find the Museo Diocesano (Diocesan
Museum) . The entrance is free, but it is only opened on Sundays from
4 to 7 pm (from Monday to Saturday the museum will only be opened upon
request, for guided tours. For information you can contact the following

Museo Archeologico Nazionale delle Marche (National Archeological
Museum of the Marches) – hosted by Palazzo Ferretti,
it is located 10 minutes far from the port (Varco della Repubblica,
then turn into via della Loggia, and then into via Giovanni XXIII).
Visiting hours: from 8.30 am to 7.30 pm. Closed on Monday.
Ticket: standard € 4; students’ ticket (from 18 to 25 years
old) € 2; free entrance up to 18 years-old and from 65 .
Pinacoteca Civica “F. Podesti” (Municipal Picture
Gallery “F. Podesti”) – hosted by Palazzo
Bosdari, it is located only few minutes far from the port, in one of
the most characteristic streets of the historical city center: via Pizzecolli.
Visiting hours: Mondays from 9 am to 1 pm; Tue-Fri. from 9 am to 7 pm;
Saturdays from 8.30 am to 6.30 pm; Sundays from 3 to 7 pm. Closed on
holidays.
Ticket: standard € 4; reduced € 3 (16 to 25 years-old, over
65 and for groups of 15 min.); multi ticket for Municipal Picture Gallery
and City Museum € 4,10
Museo della città (City Museum) – piazza
del Plebiscito
Ticket: standard € 2,60; students’ ticket € 1,60; through
ticket for City Museum and Municipal Picture Gallery € 4,10.

June / September: Sat – Sun from 6pm to 11pm
October / December: Thu – Fri from 9am to 1pm

Passetto area – War Memorial and Promenade –
leaving the port through Varco della Repubblica, walk up Corso Garibaldi
until you reach Piazza Cavour. Turn into Viale della Vittoria up to
the Monumento ai Caduti (War Memorial). Then you can reach the promenade
beneath, either by the stairs located on the left side of the monument,
or by the lift inside the pinewood.
Anfiteatro Romano – Roman Anphitheater - it
is possible to visit the Anphitheater only by booking a guided tour

By car....
Portonovo
– Conero Riviera – Portonovo Bay is sited on the
slopes of Monte Conero and it is dipped in what is called Parco del
Conero. It is one of the beauties of Riviera del Conero and for sure
the nearest to the city. Leave the port and, turning on the right you
already find the road signs for Riviera del Conero. Follow the signs
for about 10 km and you will find Portonovo very easily.
Monte Conero - for those of you very fond of mountain,
it is possible to have a stroll along the tracks of Monte Conero, the
mountain of Ancona. Following the signs for Riviera del Conero, just
outside the port, and after having passed the crossroads for Portonovo,
you will find the signs that will bring you nearly up to the edge of
the mountain.
